Yili believed that all beings should be nurtured to manifest vitality to the world and this requires a green ecological environment, according to Zhang Yipeng, vice president of the Chinese dairy giant headquartered in Inner Mongolia.
Yili is putting the green and sustainable development into practice along with its journey of internationalization, Zhang said on Thursday during the NEXT Summit held by China Economic Information Service (CEIS) in Hangzhou.
In fact, Yili has been dedicating itself in the spreading of green and healthy concept worldwide as the company accelerates the pace of going global.
While making its efforts in advancing win-win in the global dairy industry, the company also visions a harmonious relationship among corporate development, economic prosperity and a green ecological system.
For green milk sources, Yili has a production base – the Oceania Production base located in South Canterbury, a region that produced some 8.02 million tonnes of milk last year, taking up some 41.7 percent of the total milk output in New Zealand.
Also, the company has implemented world-class quality control standards throughout its global industrial chain such as the Oceania base, which has promoted the improvement of local milk quality.
Yili keeps upgrading its global quality management system, according to Zhang Yipeng, noting that the company has more than 1,200 inspection items of which inspection standards and frequency are higher than the national standards of China and the standards of countries in Europe, America and Oceania as well.
When it comes to dairy products, Yili has been working with Lincoln University for biotechnology research on nutritional innovation and green safety development since the Oceanic Production base was unveiled in 2014.
By partnering with well-known packaging material provider such as Tetra Pak and SIG Combibloc, Yili now has tens of billions of packaging every year adopt FSC-certified packaging materials that have raw materials come from ecologically well-managed forest resources.
From milk sourcing to breeding, from production to processing, from packaging to sales, from logistics to services, Yili is making comprehensive environmental-protection efforts along with its business development.
Yili achieved revenue of 61.327 billion yuan in the first three quarters of 2018, up 16.88 percent on year with a net profit of 5.056 billion yuan.
