A JAM Recruitment survey has shown that nearly two thirds (61 per cent) of Microsoft Dynamics professionals are unhappy with their current salary.
The study, which polled NAV, CRM and AX specialists showed that over two thirds (67 per cent) of respondents were approached by head-hunters on a daily or weekly basis, and that 72 per cent would consider taking a contract role if it meant an increase in salary.
JAM, which has a specialist IT Recruitment team currently have over 2000 MS Dynamics active candidates on their database, and the firm says this represents a significant upward trend in the numbers of those with these specialisms actively looking to find a new job.
When asked what factors would motivate them to leave their current positions, the majority of respondents cited improved wages and career progression as the primary factors.
The survey also showed that the average salary in the sector was between £41,000 and £51,000 across all modules.
In addition, the report revealed that NAV is the least lucrative specialism , with just two per cent of those working in that specialism achieving a salary of over £71,000 compared to eight per cent in CRM and 15 per cent in AX.
The research also indicated an upwards trend in home working with 62 per cent of those surveyed working at home, suggesting that employers are adopting more flexible working packages as a way to attract and retain talent.
Chris Pearson, MS Dynamics Team Leader atJAM Recruitment, said: “There is a noticeable skills shortage in this area – especially in CRM 2011 and AX 2012, and one trend we have seen is that employers are taking on less experienced candidates to plug gaps due to the increasing wage demands of more experienced employees.
“This awareness among candidates of what their skills are worth, and the knowledge that they could potentially command a higher salary in a new role has led to a high volume of candidates actively seeking new opportunities.
“However, while it is certainly a candidate-led market, tight margins mean that for many employers increasing remuneration is not always an option so they have found other ways to attract and retain employees, such as offering flexible working packages. Where companies are able, we have also noticed that many larger consultancies are acquiring smaller firms in order to enhance their offering and tap into existing talent.
“With these skill sets so sought after, we predict that most companies will start recruiting before Christmas in order to avoid the January rush, and we see no signs of this slowing in 2012 as more businesses turn to Cloud based solutions.”
