Former England, Tottenham, and Chelsea striker Jimmy Greaves has died at the age of 81
The Premier League club said in a statement:
“We are very sad to hear of the death of the great Jimmy Greaves, not just Tottenham’s top scorer, but the best scorer this country has ever seen.
”
Jimmy died to Home early in the morning, 81 years old.
In May 2015, he suffered a stroke that resulted in him being in a wheelchair and having severe language problems
Sky Sports News, former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara said, “We’re going to witness this (pain) today, everyone will see incredible applause for him (at Tottenham versus Chelsea).
Greaves, a member of the 1966 England World Cup, scored 44 Absolute goals in 57 appearances for the Three Lions.
Jimmy also played for Essex teams Brentwood between 1975 and 1997 and Chelmsford City between 1976 and 1977.
Sadly, it has been confirmed that Jimmy died in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, September 19) aged 81.
