Dreamlike, beautiful, pure, green, passionate…these are just some of the words used by visitors when describing the wonderful northern Chinese host city of the 2018 Arxan Forum.
The 2018 Arxan Forum opened on September 16th. More than 300 experts and academics, government officials, financial practitioners and representatives from scientific research institutions gathered together in Arxan, Xing’an Prefecture, Inner Mongolia, where they discussed the prospect of a shared future for all mankind. They were deeply moved by the passion and charm of this beautiful city, and were highly appreciative.
As soon as people got off the plane, they began taking photos. “This is the first time I have been to Arxan. I was immediately attracted by the magnificent scenery while I was still in the air. What an eye-opener it has been!” said Mr. Bakyei, an academic from the Mongolian Academy of Science.” The scenery around Arxan is wonderful. The autumn here looks just like an ink painting, making people feel relaxed and happy. The environment is also particularly comfortable, and the architecture both unique and impressive.” He said he planned to take full advantage of the wonderful natural scenery and delicious food here over the next few days.
“Arxan is fantastic!” said Professor Hamid from Iran’s Azad University, full of praise for the area. This was professor Hamid’s second visit to Arxan, and he felt that the appeal of Arxan lies in its natural beauty, just as Chinese President Xi Jinping said: “The natural scenery of Arxan is beautiful in all seasons”. “There is fresh air, mountains and rivers, pleasant scenery, blue skies, clear waters, and Tianchi Forest…” Hamid was full of praise for the city of Arxan. He said that he came here just in time to see the picturesque autumn colors, at the most beautiful time of year for visiting the region.
As Hamid studied in Beijing for nine years, he knows China very well. “To my surprise, Arxan has changed so much and it has become even more impressive with each visit. There are many foreigners on the streets, and the local people are very warm. This all points towards Arxan becoming a more international city,” Hamid said. He was impressed by the local cuisine, especially the lamb chops and noodles. “Arxan has excellent resources for tourism and great development potential. I’m full of hope for the city!” he added.
The beauty of Arxan is obvious for all to see, and Xing’an Prefecture, where the city is located, is also breathtakingly attractive. Inner Mongolia is the main birthplace of the grassland culture, and Xing’an Prefecture is one of North China’s shinning pearls. Here, 1/3 of the national territorial area is grassland, 1/4 is forest, and 1/10 is nature reserve. There are more than 300 rivers, with the number of good air quality days exceeding 97% and the rate of pollution-free water reaching 100%. The natural greenness is the biggest ecological advantage of the land here. There is a vast amount of fertile black earth, which provides an important production and processing base for green agricultural and livestock products. “Hinggan Prefecture rice” is famous for being high-quality, ecologically-friendly, and healthy.
Arxan is knowns as Arshaan in Mongolian, which means “warm and holy spring”. It has been designated a World Geopark, a National Forest park, and a National AAAAA Scenic Area. Natural landscapes include springs, forests, grasslands, wetlands, and volcanoes, as well as ice and snow, and it is also an ecological experience area that is excellent for human health. Arxan not only boasts beautiful scenery but also unique cuisine, with 12 dishes in particular being especially famous. These include cold cabbage salad, stewed Tianchi crucian carp with tofu, and black truffles.
