Harvest Global Investments (“HGI”), the Asian and Chinese markets specialist asset manager, celebrated a decade of successful growth with a tenth-anniversary conference and dinner on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Island Shangri-La Hotel in Admiralty, Hong Kong.
In September 2008, Harvest Fund Management (HFM) established HGI in Hong Kong as a wholly owned subsidiary. The last ten years have seen HGI become a market leading international asset manager delivering superior returns from Asian markets to global investors. During the past decade HGI also established offices in London and New York.

The anniversary conference, entitled “Rising Opportunities in the New Era: Perspectives from China’s Global Asset Manager,” brought together nearly 150 high-level attendees to examine the changing investment paradigm in Asia and beyond. Keynote speaker Professor BA Shusong, Chief China Economist, HKEX, shared his insights regarding global trends in the asset management industry.

The conference convened two panels of industry experts to discuss China’s transformation as a new leader of the world order and global investment opportunities. Panelists included Qu Hongbin, Co-Head Asian Economic Research, Chief China Economist, HSBC; Lu Jinuo, Head of Research, CIC International Hong Kong; Harvinder Kalirai, Chief Strategist & SVP, BCA Research; and Robert Worthington, Head of Investment Solutions Specialists APAC, Managing Director, UBS, as well as HGI Chief Investment Officer Thomas Kwan, and HGI portfolio managers June Chua, Robert Chen, Ching Yin Fung, Yannan Cheney and Taksum Choi. Ashley Dale, HGI Chief Business Development Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, and Vivi Hou, Co-Chief Business Development Officer and Head of China Strategy of HGI moderated the two panels.
Following the conference, HGI hosted a celebration dinner for notable business elites and distinguished guests. While enjoying dinner, guests were treated to a performance of Chinese and Western songs by lyric soprano Dr Ying Ying Liu, including the iconic “My Motherland” composed by her renowned father, Liu Chi.
