International technology executive Kent R. Schneider has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SolPass LLC – a firm whose mission is to eliminate cyber fraud.A 26-year veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Schneider previously was an executive in Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Information Technology sector and served as international President and CEO of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) for seven years.
At AFCEA’s TechNet Europe 2014 conference in Paris on Oct. 9, Schneider is a panelist on the subject of “Identity Validation and Rights Management.”SolPass, based in Denver, Colorado, is developer of the next generation of identity validation and assured access control in government and private computer systems.
“I chose to join SolPass because something very, very special is happening here,” said Schneider. “I have been working in the areas of identity management and access controls for 35 years. Progress in this field has been very slow. We have seen little or no change in these technologies in the past 15 years-until now. The SolPass solution is going to change the way business is done.”
“The company name is a hint into our technology. When the user is assured to be the user, and the desired server is assured to be the server, and the connection between the two is secure, the online session is free of fraud or crime,” Schneider said.
Schneider is applying his technology experience to advance the SolPass solution in multiple industries, including financial services, government, retail, wireless services, transportation, healthcare and energy. His career has focused on military security through Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems and management.
At Northrop Grumman, Schneider was president of the Defense Group and president of NGIT Global. He has received AFCEA recognition for Meritorious Service, the Chairman’s Superior Performance award and the Educational Foundation Distinguished Service to Education award. He has been recognized by Federal Computer Week magazine as one of the top 100 executives with the greatest influence on the federal information systems community.
SolPass President Rich Wilcox said, “Kent Schneider is one of the world’s foremost experts on adoption of new technologies for security applications. We are thrilled to have him become part of our company.”
Schneider earned his bachelor’s degree in management and economics from Augusta College and a master’s degree in information systems management from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the National War College.
