Meritus Hotels & Resorts and Travel Prologue are pleased to announce their collaboration on a new technology platform that delivers real-time data on hotels’ room availability as well as dynamic and static rates to traditionally offline contractors — from travel agencies and wholesalers, to corporate travel intermediaries.
Meritus Hotels & Resorts, an award-winning Asian hospitality brand, manages the iconic Mandarin Orchard Singapore which was named Best City Hotel — Singapore at the Annual TTG Annual Travel Awards in 2010 and consecutively from 2013 to 2017, as well as Best Upscale Hotel — Asia Pacific at the Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Award 2017. Meritus also counts amongst its portfolio Marina Mandarin Singapore and Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi.
“Our strategically located hotels offer top accommodation choices for travellers visiting Singapore and Malaysia,” said Adrian Tan, Regional Vice President-Sales & Revenue Strategy, Meritus Hotels & Resorts.
“The launch of this new wholesale distribution platform marks a milestone in our continued thrust to improve our partnership with our offline contractors, while allowing us greater efficiency in the management of our distribution channels. As a result, we enhance our overall yield as well as build up a more robust base demand in order to maximize revenue for our hotels.”
Improved yield through more effective engagement of traditionally offline travel partners
Through Travel Prologues’ Trip Affiliates Network (“TA Network”) hotel platform solutions, hotels and their traditional travel agents and wholesalers will be able to collaborate more effectively to raise their direct business volume with one another. In particular, hotels will now be empowered to tap on their offline travel distribution partners to sell any online tactical or promotional rates that have typically only been made available to online travel agents.
Moreover, hotels can expand and develop a more diverse distribution network with such partners, regardless of their location or time zone — forming a more effective and meaningful channel with real-time connectivity.
Increased efficiency and productivity through automation of inventory management process
The contracting and booking process of a traditional wholesale agent with a hotel typically requires both the hotel and agent manually updating and booking inventory, and getting booking confirmations.
The TA Network platform is designed to leverage technology solutions adopted by hotels and wholesale agents to facilitate their direct connectivity and automate their inventory management processes. As such, not only are hotels and travel agents now able to eliminate potential human errors in manually maintaining hotel contracts, they are also better positioned to deploy staff to more productive endeavours.
Ho Siang Twang, Executive Director of Travel Prologue adds, “In addition to benefiting from higher yield, greater efficiency and productivity, our hotel clients will also be able to exercise greater control over its distribution channels — thereby reducing the risk of overbooking rooms, particularly during peak travel periods. In the process, they also significantly improve the booking experience for their customers.”
Travel Prologue is a travel technology and services provider focused on helping travel partners improve online content collaboration and distribute their inventory dynamically to a wider audience.
