Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres has welcomed the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding today between NSW start-up Inkerz and Chinese companies Shenzhen Yifang Digital Technology and Shijiazhuang Dazhong Network Communication. The agreement will establish mutually beneficial partnerships to market and sell educational products in China.
“NSW is lending invaluable support and expertise to China in the emerging field of education technology (Edutech),” Mr Ayres said.
“It is estimated by 2017, the value of China’s online education market will reach A$36 billion so there is enormous benefit to NSW in exchanging knowledge and ideas with China in this sector.”
Inkerz is a world-first web collaboration platform that translates handwritten words and graphs on to a computer screen.
Shenzhen Yifang Digital Technology manufactures tablet PCs, stylus pens, home automation and smart wearable devices while Shijiazhuang Dazhong Network Communication specialises in multimedia teaching controls, computer network design and software development.
The Inkerz collaboration platform will now be incorporated in each Yifang device sold in China and throughout the world, while Inkerz has appointed Dazhong Network Communication as their exclusive distributor in Hebei Province.
A NSW delegation of 10 Edutech start-up companies have travelled to China. The edutech mission, organised by StudyNSW, will showcase innovative education technology to potential Chinese partners and investors.
NSW edutech companies participating in the mission include Chatty Kidz, Literatu, Inkerz, Funetics, 2and2 (Koala Academy), Composeright, ELLA, Intersective, Skwirk Online Education and LearnCube, offering software services, collaboration platforms and online education products.
