Ten Thai university students, who were invited to visit Chiba Prefecture on a monitoring tour from Jan. 18 to 22, 2015, paid a courtesy call on Governor Kensaku Morita while visiting a number of sightseeing spots and engaging in cultural exchange programs with their local counterparts.
The Thai students will post what they experienced in Chiba Prefecture on Facebook and other social networking service sites.
1. How it happened
Visitors from Thailand to Japan have been increasing significantly due to
the easing of visa requirements, among other reasons. Also, Governor Morita
visited Thailand in August 2012 for the purpose of promoting visits. To
further step up the exchange program, Chiba Prefecture invited Thai
students to the prefecture to let them tour Chiba and communicate the
prefecture’s allures to the people back home, further raising their
interest in touring Chiba.
