With the summer season nearing an end, and with the fast approaching winter in Europe, snow lovers, skiers and snowboarders are getting ready to live their passion to the fullest. The most famous spots for skiing are without doubt the French Alps. Travelling there can be somewhat lengthy, tiring and stressful specially when there are endeless traffic jams on the highway. Good news, is that Thalys is reopenning the service of its ski trains known as Thalys Snow.
Simple and convient way to travel all the way from the Netherlands or Belgium to the the French towns in the heart of the ski resorts located on the French Alps. Places on board the high speed TGV Thalys are affordable. The Thalys snow trains will operate every Saturday with direct connections from Brussels in Belgium and Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Chambéry, Albertville, Moutiers, Aime-La Plagne, Landry and Bourg-St-Maurice in the French Alps.
Travellers are invited to board eiter at the Brussels Midi or the Antwerp Central when in Belgium. Boarding stations in the Netherlands are Amsterdam Centraal or Amsterdam Schiphol station.
The Thalys Snow train tickets be available for sale as from the 6th september 2012. .
Upon arrival by the Thalys in the French towns, travellers have the shuttle buses ready to take them to the most popular ski resorts of the French Alps. Hoppin on board the SnowBuzz shuttle will take visitors to Courchevel, Méribel, Valmorel, La Tania, Champagny, Les Ménuires, Val-Thorens, La Plagne, Bellecôte, Belle-Plagne, Les Arcs, La Rosière 1800, Tignes and Val-d’Isère.
For a better comfort and convenience the ShowBuzz are scheduled to match the arrival and departure of the Thalys Snow trains.
The Thalys ticket for the snow train is valid for departures from any station in Belgium. This means that travellers can use the domestic trains operated by the SNCB (national railway company of Belgium) and travel to the station from which the Thalys Snow will be departing, either the Brussels Midi or Antwerp Central. Travellers won’t have to pay any surplus. So whether you are starting out from Brussels, Ostend, Antwerp or Arlon, you will pay the same price!
