XCMG, China’s leading construction machinery manufacturer, has achieved major success in the southeast Asian market since March, including the delivery of 100 excavators to southeast Asia and 22 cranes to Indonesia as well as supporting the construction of Cambodia’s first-ever highway and Myanmar’s upper Yeywa hydropower station.
The opportunities presented by China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI) and large-scale infrastructure development in southeast Asian countries have provided new opportunities for Chinese construction machinery manufacturers.
“The southeast Asian market is full of energy, and XCMG provides high-quality products that are adapted to deliver optimal performance under different weather and geographical conditions. We’ve also established a global sales and service network that can promptly respond to problems, ensuring smooth construction progress,” noted Zhike Song, GM of XCMG Excavator Machinery.
Advanced, endurable and customized
XCMG has hosted a grand delivery ceremony for 100 XE215 excavators that are worth RMB 50 million (US$ 7.45 million) in total, which were exported to southeast Asia to serve in different construction projects.
The all-around model has been upgraded to significantly enhance performance and abrasion resistance with waterproof-grade IP67, so it can operate smoothly in mountainous regions and in hot and humid climates.
In April, XCMG exported 22 cranes (11 QY55KA_Y and 11 QY75KA_Y) to Indonesia’s large nickel-iron mining project. Both models, released this February, were customized for the southeast Asian market.
XCMG’s machines and complete construction solution sets continue to aid infrastructure projects in southeast Asia:
-XCMG’s road machinery set solution has joined Cambodia’s first highway construction stretching 190 kilometers (118 miles) to connect Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. It’s a key project that comes from China and Cambodia’s BRI cooperation and will promote economic and social development in the region.
-XCMG’s tunnel construction solution set equipment is now working on Myanmar’s upper Yeywa hydropower station project.
“As the BRI deepens cooperation across southeast Asia, XCMG will seize opportunities and develop in the local markets with our ‘Advanced and Endurable’ products, one-stop construction solutions and worry-free services,” Song said.
