At a press conference in Beijing on the 25th of October 2018, Zing Music Technologies Limited, the developers of the increasingly popular Zing Music Mobile App, announced its official collaboration with a nationwide singing competition, Liang Sheng Yin Xiong, whereby Zing will become the official registration and online voting platform for the 14 provinces in China that the competition covers.
In September 2018, the much awaited music composition application, Zing Music, launched in its official version on both iOS and Android platforms. The application boasted a full spectrum of music composition functions that would allow an individual user who holds little or no music production skill sets to be able to compose a decent melody, add in lyrics and sing to the app to create a quality demo of a song.
To date, the application has attracted more than 100,000 users, and more than 3,000 songs have been created within the first month of its launch.
At the press conference, Zing Music Technologies sealed a partnership with a nationwide singing competition. Details of the collaboration include the use of Zing Credits for the voting of winners and fan-gifts to the competition contestants, as well as the launch of a competitor and fan community area within the Zing application itself.
The competition organizers also announced their intentions of bringing the brand into regional markets such as Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, and that the eventual internationalized Zing application would play a major part in next year’s plan to go regional.
This partnership of online and offline elements is poised to make waves in the Chinese Music Industry this year, and as it rolls over to next year, who knows what chemistry could be born from Chinese music going regional?
