In 1993 Long Range Systems, of Dallas TX, developed the first coaster pager in the world. An innovation in their field, LRS’ coaster pager changed the way customers were dealt with in restaurants, dramatically improving customer service. This system allowed restaurant owners to create ‘invisible queues’, meaning that customers were less prone to walking away as it appeared that no one was queuing.
In America’s second most populated area for restaurants, the coaster pager became an instant success, allowing Long Range Systems’ business to exponentially expand.
Building on this success, LRS has developed and patented over 20 products. Where initially the coaster pager was targeted directly at restaurants, today the portfolio of products is useable in a multiplicity of industries; and LRS is still innovating with new products such as the ‘Table Tracker’ that is designed for fast casual restaurants where food is taken to customers sitting at a table. This new innovative system is another LRS patent.
